I have a 21 trailblazer and this problem just started yesterday. Dropped it at dealership today to see what the fix is. If you google this issue, it’s well documented to the point of several class action suits against gm.
Update: the service engineer said that GM is aware of the problem but they have to order the replacement part and it could take a long time. In the meantime, it was suggested that I bring my car in every time it happens. Ugh. He also suggests that I disconnect the battery if it happens after service hours. NOT what I wanted to hear but what choice do I have? Disappointed.

Update , still waiting from dealer ordering another one of same part . It comes on and goes away every once in while . I think I found what triggers it . I had to go through a pot holed parking lot ( not fast it and carefully) and very bumpy . When it parked the car and tried to turn off , light notification comes on . Play with gear shift makes it go away .Seems like if something shakes the car it causes this from bumpy driving conditions . Dealer said it’s an electrical problem , doesn’t seem like it ! Thoughts ?
I have the same issue on my 2020 tb rs. First happened at 35,960 miles. It happens randomly.

I had this problem when I hit 20k miles it will do it every now and then took it to dealership tech said bring it back when the light is on. Which I think was BS now I am at 31k and I need a new transmission. Car was making a clunking noise when decelerating and accelerating and braking.

Leased a 2022 Trailblazer back in August 21. It has just now hit 17,000 miles and I also started getting that error. I have an appointment on Tuesday to have it looked at. Service guy said this isn't the first time he's heard of this. After reading these forums I really wish I could just trade the damn thing in.

Lucky you are under warrany. I am not. Will go to a bad part of town and leave the fob with it. Hopefully somebody will take it. Gm has known about this issue for 9 years. Even a class action suit was cheaper to pay than fix it. What a joke. If I turn it in early I still have a year left on this junk.

2022 Trailblazer Activ here. It's exactly 1 year old with 14K miles, and the shift to park message is popping up every other day. We got lucky and were able to replicate it while dropping it off at the dealer. But even though the intake person verified the problem and was taking notes, the actual repair tech can't duplicate it. So, they won't fix it. They said they have no knowledge of any problem of this kind with GM cars, and there is nothing to fix. We already bought a different vehicle, and I think I'll just leave that one at the dealer till they decide to repair it.

Well this doesn't sound promising for me lol. I did take a video when mine happened, so hopefully that helps. Will keep people posted.

Update: I wasn't able to turn the car engine off or on (only the inside displays). I went to disconnect the negative battery connection, there was a minor spark then the error message cleared and I was able to start the car again.

I'm at the dealer now to see if they can determine the problem. The service manager said the BCM and the ECM lost communication. I'm guessing that was "reset" when the battery connection sparked.

Part is on order. No ETA of course. And when I asked if there was a trick to getting the error to stop sooner, I was told no. Last time it took me 5 tries to get it to stop. I can't just leave it that way as I'm sure the battery would eventually die.

Made it to the dealer and while I was expecting pushback from the service writer....they seemingly understood the problem. Made an appt for Aug 18th. They told me they would need 4 to 6 hours to check the connections in the shifter harness. Not sure how they will determine if it needs a new harness as the problem is intermittent. Thankfully under warranty. Will update after
repair visit.

Well, the repair tech finally was able to duplicate the problem, but now the shifting assembly part is on nationwide backorder with no ETA for replacement. So we get to fiddle with the shifter button while waiting in parking lots for the indeterminable future. While poking around the vehicle, the repair tech also found a problem with the cooling fan and ordered that part as well. This repair saga is heading further and further in the wrong direction.
