My 2021 started doing weird starting issues. Key not detected message, then it would struggle ever so slightly to start than fire up. Help key to the push button and it would start. Changed battery in fob and it has not acted up since.
Maybe these shift to park issues are the car not seeing the key so it won't shut off?????

I had this happen to me as well a WEEK AFTER my warranty expired (3 years not mileage). My car has less than 30K Miles & I refused to get it fixed and spent minutes trying to get my car to cut off. Surprisingly this was resolved when my car key started to die. Now the car cuts off with no problem because the car doesnt detect a key in the car. So I guess dont get a new battery for your key. Its been 6 months and it hasnt happened again and I didnt get it fixed. Hope this helps someone. I have a 2022 btw.
I also ignored this issue, and it suddenly stopped. Weird. (I probably jinxed myself now lol.l

The issue is the shifter is faulty. (Car needs to be on a flat spot, tires chalked, and car in neutral) If you pop open the console area around your shifter, towards the front of your car in your middle console area you will see a slightly bent silver piece of metal. If you bend it back it fixes your issue for 10k to 20k miles. The dealership replacement part really is not much better so the issue is faulty engineering and construction of this part. GM has had this issue for years on several models of vehicles and it gives them repeat business so they will not completely fix a problem that creates profits.

Hey all. I have a ‘21 RS, and the shift to park message comes up and beeps every time I shut the car off. My dealer has a part supposedly ordered, but who knows when it will come in. Is there a way to disable this until I can get my car fixed? I’m spending 4-5 minutes each time I shut the car off trying to get it to stop. I rattle the shifter, push the side button on the shifter, turn the car on shift then shift to park..sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m taking it on a road trip next week don’t want this bothering me, but I guess at this point it will.
I have the same problem!! But because it's not happening every time I'm afraid it won't do it when I take it in to get looked at. What part did they get for you?

This just started happening to me this week- dropping off mine at the dealership Monday for the day, hopefully it happens for them and it’s covered under warranty. It’s alarming, I’m scared to go anywhere, took me 5 tries to get it to shut off. I have a 2022 trailblazer RS, just hit 26k km. Makes me wonder if it’s time to trade in my car while it still has any value, my warranties are close to expiring.

I also have a 21 RS. Lately I actually been having the same exact problem after they replaced the transmission. With that I’m always worried that she will roll from the parking spot. Now out of habit I pull her emergency parking break when I park. So it’s an actual part? After Christmas I think I might go to the dealership and get it to
I have a 22RS and problem started about 6mts ago. Of course at dealers it never appeared. Now at 48000 miles. I advised dealer and they wanted to charge $200 just to confirm what I told them what the problem was already. Now I read GM has know about this since 2018???? Why have they not recalled this problem?

It's easier for gm to settle a class action suit for this same issue back about 8 years ago than to do a recall or fix. This is my 1st chevy I bought in 20 years and will be my last due to the incompetence of gm. Can't wait to give this car back in 6 months. BTW, my shift to park is random. First occurred just shy of 36k miles. Never again with gm. Never.
Just amazing. Mine just start under 36000 and now my battery is running low. I’m guessing the switch could be the cause also. Did you have any battery issues?

Did anyone have battery issue also. Seems like my battery is draining fast since shift to park light came on while in vacation last week and I’m at 36500 miles.

Wow anyone else ? Please reply anyone sees this . If this doesn’t get fixed , how can we fight this ? This would be the second attempt to get this fixed as soon as my part comes in . No holding my breath issue is resolved .
I just started having this problem at 35,700 miles. I am on with GM to try get them to fix the issue as I was told it is a common problem that they have addressed/fixed with other models (Malibu etc) so far not enough complaints to them to warrant a recall on the Trailblazer which I call bs. They know about it but are dragging their feet. I posted on the latest post on their facebook page and I suggest everyone else does too. Bad publicity may get them to fix it. Also report it to NHTSA.gov
