Wow anyone else ? Please reply anyone sees this . If this doesn’t get fixed , how can we fight this ? This would be the second attempt to get this fixed as soon as my part comes in . No holding my breath issue is resolved .
I have a 2023 Trailblazer and this just started happening with 13k. I put it in park and pushed the off button and it turned yellow and started dinging that I needed to put it in Park.
I guess I'll be calling the dealership.

So, originally this issue started after our 2021 Activ AWD warranty expired. All the valid discussion aside here about GM’s lack of ownership on this inexcusable issue, I decided to try the 5 minute fix suggested by the member who posted A YouTube vid. Worked for about 2-3 months. Repeated. Another 2-3 months. Frustrated, I came back here and found that dealer service departments were now getting newly designed shifter assemblies in with the redesigned “park micro switch.” Being a spendthrift and having fairly good mechanical skills and tools, I decided to order the part - Automatic Transmission Control - GM (13545091) from GMPARTSGIANT.COM Reasonably priced with shipping for less than $80. They will make you agree to no returns/refunds as it’s a “GM Controlled Part?!?” Arrived within one week. Disassembly required quite a bit more discovery than the 5-minute temporary fix did, as four wiring harnesses must be disconnected, and the shifter itself must be removed while still attached to its 4 bolt mount (only possible after removing the insulation panel on drivers lower side of the console adjacent to shifter. Tools required are Torx driver for the actual shift cable two-point attachment, a universal joint metric socket with 8 inch extension & ratchet, strong fingernails or small flat blade screwdriver to pull the wire harness locks upward to release (three on console cover, one on the shifter assembly) and about 60-90 minutes to assess and set up the area for the job. Open both front doors, and the back hatch for good airflow/cooling as you work. Have a good LED flashlight as it’s dark inside the console. Accessing the area will be totally from fully pushed back And lowered drivers seat and kneeling into vehicle drivers side knees on floor to be at floor level to remove that side panel for side access. You will be placing your torx driver through factory created openings in the interior sidewall of the console to remove/replace the shift cable and its retainer strap. And, you will have better access to the forward drivers side shifter mount bolt to to remove and replace when using the universal joint socket/extension. Sorry I have no pics or YouTube of this repair. It’s certainly NOT a popular way to approach the issue, but, if there’s any “shade tree” mechanics in this owners group, you’ll save about $600 if you’re successful. BTW, all’s well, and we have no more SHIFT TO PARK Alerts, and no more bruised palms from pounding on the shift knob to get the freaking microswitch to finally actuate.

This issue just started happening to me about 2 weeks ago. At first it was just happening once every other day and now it’s every single time I try to turn off my vehicle. I’m glad I’m researching this and found everyone’s information extremely helpful. I have an appointment with the service center tomorrow and just wanted to make sure I knew a little bit of information so I don’t get jerked around. My Trailblazer is a 2022 LT with less than 23,000 miles on it. As you could imagine the immediate panic as the warranty is set to expire pretty soon. I can’t help but feel like when issues like this occur so soon into having a new car that it’s just gonna be nonstop issues the life of owning it until it becomes someone else’s issue. I truly hate the car buying process so I’m trying to stay positive that it will be a quick fix and no out of pocket cost to me. Thanks for letting me vent and for the very detailed information.

I have a 2022 TB RS - 80,000 and when I turn my car off every time now it tells me i have to “shift to Park!” Sometimes I just have to play with side buttons and shift to reverse then put it back in park just one time and then I can turn off the car and it doesn’t say that and I can just get out but other times I’m sitting there for a good 5-6 minutes turning the car off and on so I can play with shifter to get it be able to get out of the car. I saw these posts from earlier - anyone know what is wrong and how to fix?

Read through post 142 above.

This is so frustrating that Chevy doesn’t want to cover this if your vehicle is out of warranty. This should not be the case for as new of a vehicle. This started happing for me this weekend. 21 TB 42,000 miles. I’m the 2nd owner. Out of warranty. Chevrolet will be getting a call!!!

What is the part that needs to be replaced on the transmission

I am h in some issue 2021 TBRS. It started at 35k miles and I called the dealership and was told my 3 yr warranty ran out 3 weeks earlier so it’s no longer covered 😤😤

This just started happening on my 2022 Chevy TB at 25,000 miles. It’s the most annoying thing ever! I would trade it in if the interest rates wasn’t so high right now. Ugh! The part is on back order until December. So until then I will just look like an idiot everyday trying to shut my car off.

I am having this issue too but what I have found is that if I will hold the brake firmly. Shift slowly to park and wait a sec or two and then turn the car off while brake is still firmly depressed. I am not getting the error message. I’ll do this to save $$$$ since it doesn’t seem to be a recall issue yet.
Yet. So frustratingly embarrassing.

Well, the repair tech finally was able to duplicate the problem, but now the shifting assembly part is on nationwide backorder with no ETA for replacement. So we get to fiddle with the shifter button while waiting in parking lots for the indeterminable future. While poking around the vehicle, the repair tech also found a problem with the cooling fan and ordered that part as well. This repair saga is heading further and further in the wrong direction.
How long did it end up taking for the part to come in? Mine just happened and they hinted about at least a month

My 2022 started doing this as well a week after my warranty expired. I refused to get it fixed and surprisingly got resolved when my key started to go dead. The car easily cuts off because the car doesn't recognize the key is in the car. I guess Ill keep my car key dead. Hasnt happened since my keys been dead and I didnt get it fixed. Its been about 5 months.

My Trailblazer 2022 just started a week ago. My milage is 37000
To late for warranty. We have 2 Chevy Malibu and they have the same code

I had this happen to me as well a WEEK AFTER my warranty expired (3 years not mileage). My car has less than 30K Miles & I refused to get it fixed and spent minutes trying to get my car to cut off. Surprisingly this was resolved when my car key started to die. Now the car cuts off with no problem because the car doesnt detect a key in the car. So I guess dont get a new battery for your key. Its been 6 months and it hasnt happened again and I didnt get it fixed. Hope this helps someone. I have a 2022 btw.
