Please report this issue to BBB
I have and I have pics of the shift to park message. Within 5 days GMc contacted me about the claim now they wanting to send a engineer out to look at it. Yes I have taken it to several dealerships and Noone knows the fix. As of right now I am still under bumper to bumper warranty

So I figured out how to fix it, and it ended up being stupid easy. I uploaded a quick video showing the basics of how to permanently (cross your fingers) fix it in under 5 minutes with no tools needed. I actually rented the ACDelco service manual for 3 days in anticipation of this being a huge ordeal, but it was completely unnecessary for this fix. All you need is a needle nose pliers, tweezers, or a metal probe to bend the switch as seen in the video.

My video shows it with the little protective cover already off, since I put everything back together and forgot to put it back on. I decided to film a quick video while replacing that little cover, and it took a total of 3 minutes including pausing the camera to maneuver into place. After the fix, I sat there and shifted back and forth at least 50 or 60 times, and it never came back. I could never have done more than 8 or 10 shifts before without the error popping up. My wife is driving it around town right now running errands, and it's completely fine.

My video showing the disassembly and how to get to the switch:

Another video giving a better description of the malfunctioning switch:

Good luck!
Thanks for video. Same issue 2021 Activ AWD. Followed your video and the issue has been eliminated. No $ spent. 10 minutes. Just have to be vigilant with removing shifter from main assembly. It WILL come off with strong upward pull. Reassembly is exact reverse of disassembly. Note: be sure to re-align brass-colored insert clips over their plastic base on underside of console shift cover before attempting reattaching. Two of mine pulled partially away from their mounts and would not have lined up correctly to reinsert during reassembly. All good now. Can’t replicate Shift to Park error after two weeks of regular use. Who knows how long this fix will work, but as easy as it is, I’m befuddled as to why GM is handling it as if it’s such a mystery.

My boyfriend has a 2022 Trailblazer RS with 14000 miles on it and it is doing it to him. He restarts his because it does it when he turns it off!!!! He takes care of that car. So this is some manufacturing issue!! I took pictures to show since it miraculously doesn’t show up half the time!!

Is it still working for u

Hey all. I have a ‘21 RS, and the shift to park message comes up and beeps every time I shut the car off. My dealer has a part supposedly ordered, but who knows when it will come in. Is there a way to disable this until I can get my car fixed? I’m spending 4-5 minutes each time I shut the car off trying to get it to stop. I rattle the shifter, push the side button on the shifter, turn the car on shift then shift to park..sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m taking it on a road trip next week don’t want this bothering me, but I guess at this point it will.
I’m having this problem now too!It is a real pain. Hoping to have it fixed soon.

Having the same problem with 21 TB with just over 30K miles. Part ordered but with the auto strike who knows how long it will take to get the part. It is bs that GM won't issue a recall on these faulty components.
In 2017 they settled class action suit for same issue. Mine started at 29,960 miles. Didn't reproduce at dealer. Happens occasionally. Gm as a company doesn't care about their customers.

They sure don't they are saying my camera that's connected to the data connecter is the problem. That's a lie it was saying shift to park before the installation. I did a claim through BBB and GM sent a engineer out and his clueless A.. Stated it was the camera that's connected to the data connecter. Just Lies

I'm an ex automotive engineer and I don't get how that's related to the shift to park issue. Right after my shift to park goes away, about a nano second I see application software message. Gm doesn't know or care about customers. We are a number that lines their pockets and checks the boxes.

So after 60 days dealership (after I contacted them) told me the shifter assy was in. Made an appt for the Friday Oct 27th. Long story short ... they claim
the assembly was defective and it fried a module. They can not get the vehicle in gear. Now my TB is sitting on the dealer lot among 60 plus other Chevys awaiting replacement parts. Of course
they are blaming the UAW strike for no estimated delivery on the replacement parts.

The engineer they hired to look at my car needs another career obviously he knows nothing about cars. He was the one stated that my camera that's connected to the data connecter is the issue. I had this issue before the camera and I told GM that

Strike over hope ur part comes in. Seems like owners that has a piece replaced it worked for a few months and it starts back

I had my oil changed on my 22 tb rs yesterday. They recommended a transmission fluid change for $200. I replied I didn't know it had fluid, just a bunch of belts. He said these belt drive trans will eventually fail and the part is around 4k without labor. I have 10 months to go before I turn this lease back in. Counting down the days. On the other hand, bought a new jeep compass 2 months ago. 2400 miles on it. Had an alternator pulley seize on that. At dealer for 2 weeks now. I believe either I have bad luck or cars are made cheaper every year.

I’m betting on both. Hahaha
