Wife drives the TB. She has noticed like 5 times now in the last week that when she has the radio on and hit the brakes, when she hits them there is a audible pop coming through the radio. She has noticed when playing FM radio , don't know if it does it while using blue tooth or other methods of playing music.

Our brakes are electric "brake by wire" with a vacuum pump for assist instead of engine vacuum so it sounds like the radio is picking up interference from the brake system. I'm curious is if happens on AM, FM and what frequency?

Wife says she is listening to FM radio. Seems only to do it when putting car into gear or park when you hit the brakes and move shifter lever at the same time. She says it has not done it in just stop and go driving.

Had this happen this morning. I had to hit my brakes , not too hard as my crash assist thing went off, red lights flashing etc. then I drove a little bit after , came to a stop and my car shut off with the auto shut off. When I resumed to drive a very loud popping noise sounded and seemed like it was over the radio. Did not appreciate the scare. I had it on satellite radio.

The best thing anyone can do who is having this problem or any other problem is report it to NHTSA which is where most recalls and TSB's (technical service bulletins) originate. CR also helps, but most manufacturers follow NHTSA very closely for new problems.

I had the popping noise happen today while test driving one. Definitely coming through the audio system. Immediately thought of this thread when I heard it. Was torn between the Trailblazer and GMC Terrain. Drove an hour and a half to test drive and possibly purchase the Trailblazer. Got to the dealership and oops! We sold it last night. Gee thanks for giving me a heads-up. Wasted half my day. 😄

To be honest, it became a timing and value proposition for me. I really like both vehicles. I need an AWD daily driver that I can fit 2 car seats in the back seat while I'm driving. The space in the Trailblazer surprised me and its a fun vehicle. That being said, ride quality and cabin noise is definitely better in the Terrain. Price also started playing a part because what started out as a fairly large price difference (40k for Terrain and 33k for Trailblazer MSRP), rebates and the GMC dealer offering way more for my trade-in than the Chevy dealer ended up making the price difference 3k. Still, I haven't taken delivery yet. Waiting on vehicle to come in from a sister dealership. Maybe that'll get screwed up and I'll be scrambling to find something before month's end. If that ends up being the case, I'd still consider the Trailblazer.

I've reported it but they want to replicate it each time I bring it to the dealership and its even in the shop today and I mentioned it. I swear Murphy's law is real. This is the third time I've brought it in. Even though it's only for the Jack Recall, I told them to look at it.. again. I'll see what happens this time.

I have had the same problem. I took it in and of course like mentioned above it didn't happen when they had it ... but it happened when I turned the corner to drop it off. How frustrating. I didn't know you could report it to the mentioned above, I will do that now. Thanks, I am glad it's not just me.

I have a 2021 Trailblazer and have this happen to me maybe once or twice a month. Maybe more often since I live in an urban area and stop/go a bunch. You're not alone! It's loud enough in mine I've considered trading it in for something else. Mine has mostly been through AM/FM radio or if I'm using Bluetooth.
