Transmission troubles

2021 Activ FWD. 13,500 miles.
I started hearing a sound like a bad wheel bearing. No vibrations. Dealership checked it out and said sound was coming from transmission.
TB runs fine just makes the noise.
I was told that they don’t work on CVT transmissions and it will be replaced.
Waiting for a call to take it back for work.

Interesting they are just flat out replacing. Good for you but no attempt to even figure out what it was.

That what I thought. I’m thinking that it’s quicker for them to replace than repair.

that’s what I thought. I’m thinking replacing is quicker than taking it apart. Service rep told me there are about 30 vehicles that need trans work.
Wait I thought only the AWD models came in a 9 speed automatic?
Your tranny should not be a CVT they can’t give you that excuse

He has a FWD Activ with the CVT.
I had a 2021 AWD and the transmission went out at 19,000 miles..same issues to begin with. Then I started having issues with warning lights and the dealership said that it was anything from a software update to having to pull the steering column and replace it. I promptly asked how much I could get on a trade in and I bought a Blazer.

I asked the service rep when I brought it in and he said it was a CVT. After I read your response I googled it and it said CVT. Where did you get your info from. I really an cluesless on this.
I have only seen the actives with 9 speed auto that only have AWD never seen an Active FWD. either way CVT does not shift.
so you won’t feel shifts.

The CVT is and has been a big problem for years.
Consist variable transmission are good for 60k you'll be replacing it. Consist wear parts inside. There's a belt or chain that has about 60k life. If that.

Your trans was also making noise before it went out?

It was making noise and shifting rough..very rough.
I think Chevy needs to have some recalls if so many people are having problems with same issue then a recall on those parts need to be out in place! 🤦🏽‍♀️🙏🏽

I am really sorry for what you’re going through. Wishing your problems get resolved quickly.

NHTSA issues vehicle safety standards and requires manufacturers to recall vehicles and equipment that have safety-related defects. A recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle, equipment, car seat, or tire creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards. Most decisions to conduct a recall and remedy a safety defect are made voluntarily by manufacturers prior to any involvement by NHTSA.

I am certainly not an expert but to me at this point this sounds more like an inferior product than a safety risk. In any event manufacturers should offer a proper remedy to you.

I think the lemon law is the best course of action. Again best wishes.

Thank you!! 🙏🏽 They still have my vehicle and I am in their loaner!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽😊 Dealership says they contacted GMAC and said new job needed to be done would cost me $1500-$1600 but they are only going to charge me $220! I’ll take that especially after being right outside of warranty miles. #thankful
How many miles on it?
