That's the standard transmission on the FWD RS. The 9spd auto is only on the AWD RS.The RS does not have a CVT
Didn't even think about the FWDThat's the standard transmission on the FWD RS. The 9spd auto is only on the AWD RS.
Pros and Cons to this going to purchase and want to know if anyone has had any issues with theres if they had this in the 2021 model.
My old 2016 Toyota Corolla S had the CVT which used "simulated" shifts to make the variable ratio transmission less noticeable and make it feel more like a regular transmission with gears. You could even use manual mode and use the paddle shifters to change gears on a transmission with no gears, lol. I haven't driven a Trailblazer with the CVT, but it sounds like it operates like a normal CVT which holds rpms to make it more efficient.I have the RS FWD w/ CVT. First time I've had a CVT. I'm expecting my vehicle to "shift" when accelerating like on an on-ramp. But it just keeps accelerating. Strange feeling at first, but got used to it quickly!!! No issues at 10K miles.
Correct, but the CVT in the Trailblazer reminds me a lot of the CVT in the Honda Civic. Which is imo the perfect way to program a CVT. I'd rather the engine always stay in it's most optimal RPM than trying to convince me that I don't have a CVT.My old 2016 Toyota Corolla S had the CVT which used "simulated" shifts to make the variable ratio transmission less noticeable and make it feel more like a regular transmission with gears.
