IMO the motor biscuit article is waste of time read. First of all, most vehicles aren't selling "well". Given virus and supply chain issues (and 3 weeks on a ship) what does one expect? Vehicle numbers sold mom or yoy are simply skewed. Additionally the authors comparison to the Outback, Bronco Sport & Explorer sales units are of little benefit since these vehicles are not the TB competition. Much better rivals would be the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona and perhaps the Mazda CX-30. Here are the US sales (goodcarbadcar) for last month (September) versus LY and YTD versus LY:
Sept Sept LY YTD YTD LY
Trailblazer 5,723 8,617 41,932 73,900
Seltos 4,022 2,933 31,368 42,352
Kona 5,252 5,582 45,680 70,466
CX-30 4,855 3,581 37,387 42,469
