Problem- among other possibilities may be the wear and tear with the shift lever.
Am disappointed because I have owned the vehicle for about 3 yrs with mild usage; am already experiencing issues of this magnitude; but its life;
Solution- I was quoted to purchase part (see attached pic); dealer quote me $248; total price to fix the problem $ 805. Declined repair.
I purchased the part for $68 from a different GM dealer.
Went to AAMCO; they are willing to to install the part and guarantee installation. For fraction of cost:
AAMCO says they’d inspect the problem for free; I already spent $248 for diagnosis at the dealer. That wasn’t prudent on my part; but painful lesson learnt. Also grateful that I will not waste more monies with the dealer- no offense to the dealer; I understand cost of business;
