Ordered my 2021 TBlazer in midnight blue metallic. Went with the LT. I got the panoramic sunroof and liftgate package, driver convenience, and driver confidence package as well. I decided not to go with the upgraded seating package because I terribly dislike fake leather. I have a friendly neighbor who does custom upholstery and wheel wraps as well- and I like diamond stitched neoprene. I will likely spend good money on an interior upgrade eventually.
Also, I rarely use regular cruise control so the idea of needing Adaptive Cruise Control was totally unnecessary to me. I'm too old fashioned to allow my car to regulate the speed much less have control over the following distance of the car ahead. That wouldn't even have gotten tried out if I got it. Completely untouched since factory install lol. Zero need. And the slightly bigger info screen between the gauges? I mean, I already got the larger 8 inch infotainment screen with the convenience package- will the .7 inches really make any difference on my center dash? I can't see that being a deal-breaker.
NOW, that leads me to my issue. I couldn't get a back arm rest with cup holders unless I wanted one of those packages. So I had a choice between an almost $700 arm rest or an almost $900 arm rest depending on my choice.
I spent like a week toiling over this issue. I ended up just saying no to both. I couldn't justify the extra nearly 1k to have a back arm rest. I will likely just get one of those snap-in removable consoles on Amazon to toss back there if I have riders on an extended trip. This frustrated me a bit. For an MSRP of $28,500 (not what I actually paid) I was hoping to get the larger dash screen and a rear armrest included in the LT base or in the convenience package. I am not a huge fan of how they packaged this model out. Still, I am happy with my choice and don't regret it. I just had to gripe a bit. Looking for fellow gripers. Anyone else run into this or similar issues when it came to your vehicle's features or the choices you had?

My LT does not have the rear armrest/cupholder. I didn't realize it at the time of purchase. My Equinox(which was an LT) had it and it didn't get used so much for an armrest as it did for the cupholder portion of it. I do not like the shape of where the cupholders are in the doors. They are more like a 20 oz bottle holder that still do not fit well, and are awkward for use. In this day and age it seems a bit silly that this is an option. GM could have saved money by designing only one style of seat.
It is a bit odd how some items are packaged together. The style of the rear seat shouldn't affect any electronics. It requires no power source.
I guess it comes down to the bells & whistles cost extra💲

This is what happens when business majors with useless Ivy League degrees take over a company completely and no one that cares about the customer remains in charge.

GM— we will force customers to upsell into features they don’t need by bundling advanced tech with basic functionality found standard on a Kia Rio. Look at all the money we will make on these higher profit margin packages! Of course the cost is not so tangible, mainly the customer has at best a sour taste of GM or at worst goes to another brand.

I bet there is a sad little PowerPoint somewhere in GM justifying the return on investment that completely failed to consider the fallout and customer experience.

I applaud you for not giving away money for features you really don’t need
