Have you tried the 10 min update while the car isn't running?
OnStar update stuck
Started car this morning and got a message that onstar is updating with -10min to go. I could not use the infotainment center.
After my 50min commute the same message is displayed (still -10min to go!). Shutting the car off and restarting goes back to the same screen.
Any ideas from the forum?

I went back to the car after 3hrs and all is well.
Im guessing it completed the update after the car was shutdown.
