I purchased a 2023 TB RS 1.3L turbo 9 speed AWD. I change oil at approximately 6000 miles (30% oil life). At both oil changes it has been a quart low. GM says that's normal. How is that possible? I've never had this happen with my other new vehicle purchases from non GM manufacturers. Anyone else having this problem? And is there a fix? J&L makes an oil separator, but afraid in may void the warranty, if it would solve the problem.

I have a 2020 Buick Encore GX which is essentially the same as the Chevy Trailblazer. It has the same 1.3 turbo and 9 speed AWD. It uses a quart of oil every 4000 miles. I asked my dealer about it. First, I was told GM considers oil use to be a problem when it's a quart every 2000 miles or less. Otherwise, it's normal. Second, the reason for the oil use, according to my dealer, is because it's a turbo charged engine, and that causes high heat. I've just been keeping a quart of Mobil 1 on hand for top offs. I guess if it stays at 4000 miles and doesn't get worse, I'll have to live with it. I'm not happy about it though.
