Hi,

I am waiting for a 2023 trailblazer RS to arrive, probably later this week. I’ve been waiting for a couple of months and I’ve been looking around for accessories, especially tires and rims. I need something more aggressive, a little bit taller…and slightly wider. Just overall more aggressive, and maybe an inch taller and wider. After HOURS of searching, I can’t find anything like what I just described. I don’t like how much space is between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender in the wheel-wells on the stock RS.

What size/kind of tires would look awesome, and be a little bigger?
…and how do I keep the tires closer to the body if Put 19” (actual) all-terrains on it?

thanks,

John

I stuck with the same overall size as stock as I didn't want to run into issues with rubbing, and didn't want to mess up the speedo/mileage. I did go 1" larger diameter rim and 1" wider rims pushed to the outside of the car. Stance looks great and still doesn't throw rocks up the side of the car.

So you put stayed with 18” tires, and just wrapped them around 19” rims? …that were also 1 inch wider? That’s what I’m getting from your reply. If that’s the case that is genius. I didn’t know that would even be an option, but it does seem like that would work as long as the tires could handle it. Either way I think your tires/rims achieve what I am looking for. Well done.

I just reduced the profile of the tires so that the overall diameter of the tire with the 19's was the same diameter of the tires with 18's. So the sidewall is a bit smaller to account for the extra rim but the speedometer and mileage isn't thrown off because the circle is still the same size.

From 225/55/18 (stock)

The problem with 18" &19" wheels that if you truly want a true off-road tire your looking at LT (light truck) tires.
You have 4 companies making LT tires in 17" Goodyear, BFG, Hankook, & Yokohama.
In 18" you have BFG. But too wide to fit my 18 Equinox, without minor mods.
