Can anyone tell me how long we get to use the my Chevy app with a new vehicle purchase? I thought the sales lady told me that I was able to use the start stop unlock features for three years without paying I do find it kind of mind-boggling that Chevy charges when I know for a fact Ford let you use it for free.

Must be a gift (add on) from your selling dealership, GM hasn't offered 3 years free for almost 10 years now. Another possibility is that you paid for the 3 years which GM is charging on some 23 models.

I think you guys are talking about the "remote access plan" which doesn't include much. GM used to give you the top tier plan for 3 years, but now you only get the basic plan.

You are correct. Mine is the remote access plan. It does enable you to use the remote start on the app. That's all I want it for anyway.

Just the key fob feature runs 14.99 a month. Last 2 years they offered a free 3 month trial. I do the free then cancel it.

Currently with Chevy, the deal is 3 years for the Remote Access Plan. Which includes starting the car from your phone, but doesnt include the diagnostic stuff on the UnlimitedPlan. The Unlimited Plan is only a 3 month trial.

So just to clarify, this is what I am currently receiving. We pick up our RS on Tuesday and this is from the onStar activation email
The OnStar Service Plan can be renewed and then cancelled for an additional 2 months on top of the 1 month free. Remote Access is good for 3 years.

I don’t know about the OnStar / XM radio/ Data hotspot stuff because I refused to give them a credit card, and did not want any of service.

If you signed up for the XM radio when you cancel be prepared, receive emails every day and eventually phone calls. Lol

I do know for those of us that have recently got a 23 we received 3 years of the remote access. Which gives us the ability to lock, unlock and start the vehicle. After three years of “free” service it’s $14 a month.

The hard sell of OnStar, wifi hotspot, and XM was the most negative aspect of buying my RS. It took me several phone calls to cancel, and no one would send me a confirmation email or give me a confirmation number. I wish I had refused to give them my number now. Smart move.

Just picked up our TRailblazer RS and activated the free month of OnStar services. Before we made the call to OnStar, my tech warned me that they will be very pushy to get me to sign up for another 2 months, but to refuse it now if we dont want it, because of how difficult it is to cancel afterwards.

So we just did the 1 month free and then it will cancel on its own.

I did 1 month free, and added 2 for free, but literally after 7 days I went online and canceled my services. They did take $15 (refundable per OnStar customer service rep), so will see what will happened.
