We test drove an AWD LT today but didn't have any options and I want some options. Talked to the dealer about ordering one and he said they are so far behind in getting them shipped I probably wouldn't receive it till next year.

A very good way to find the vehicle you want, but don't mind traveling a little, is through Chevrolet.com. Go to the "build and Price" option, go through all the steps to define the vehicle you'd like. Then, at the end you can "view inventory". From there, it will list all of the exact matches and close matches within a given radius of your zip code. If you find one, you can then contact that particular dealer. I have found that website very helpful and that's how I found a dealer that had my Trailblazer "in transit". We struck a deal and I put a deposit on it before it arrived. A couple weeks later, all done.

I just ordered one on June 9th and they were estimating "hopefully" 4-6 months. The dealership I'm working with has tried four different dealerships now that were receiving the one I wanted and they would not trade. I will update when I get a "real" build date etc

Have you considered striking a deal directly with a dealership that has what you want?

Dealership transfers are alot more difficult right now due to production shortages caused by covid-19. Every GM dealership has limited vehicles on hand so they really don't want to give up vehicles to other dealerships. Another problem is you won't be able to talk them down on the price as easily since the transfers are fixed pricing and no dealerships is going to do a transfer without making some money on the transaction. If another dealership has the Trailblazer you want you'd be better off buying directly from them unless your willing to order one and wait. With covid-19 cases rising again it's possible assembly lines could get shut down again even in Korea.

Can’t seem to find any RS Models loaded in upstate NY. Kinda hard to travel to dealer with it in stock if we are doing a trade in.
I had trouble finding a RS AWD (wanted the 9 speed auto not the CVT)....I am in Florida and used the Chevy website to
locate the exact vehicle I wanted. Dealt with a Chevy dealer in Michigan ...had it shipped to FL. Local dealers were
quoting 12-16 weeks for a factory build. Cost me $1,000 to ship from MI to FL....could not wait on a new build. If you have a local CarMax get a quote on just selling them your trade-in. Have had 2 good experiences with them as have
friends. My understanding is they don't discount the new TB's so haggling over the price is limited anyway. Know any
one who could get you the GM friends and Family pricing ? Or has a GM card with reward points ?

I just signed up for GM Rewards. That will be used for accessories. And where we live (NY) by trading in our car, we will save about $1500 in sales tax, vs buying without a trade in.
so what was it like dealing with dealer in another state? Did they offer ANY discount off MSRP? Thanks.

I visited 3 dealerships in SWFL in the Sept / Oct timeframe and no one was willing to deal. The only "discount" was the
$550 Chevy rebate money. They flat out told me too much demand and not enough product. The dealer in MI was
excellent. Between phone calls and emails ...more pleasant than going to local dealership. I was lucky to have a friend's
brother get me a GM pin for a lower tier of the friends and family discount. It covered the additional cost of having to
ship the vehicle down to FL. (Be aware some of the dealers in the Detroit area advertise the price assuming you have
access to a GM discount.) As far as the sales tax deal ....my trade was an older car and didn't impact the sales tax
part of the equation. There is the possibility Carmax may give you more for your trade than a dealer. Or sell it privately
and you may cover the sales tax credit. Good Luck.

I get why they are not giving huge rebates. All spring and summer the dealer lots up here in Cincy had nothing on the lot. People want them, not enough to go around.
