I need to replace the passenger side brake light assembly.

Is this something that I can do at home - with minimal tools - or something that must be done at a body shop ?

Also, it looks like this assembly is much more than the older plastic pieces that you would buy.

This looks like it has all of the wiring and lights built into the assembly.

Is this correct ?

Thank you.

It would be a relatively easy process. Not sure the particulars on the TB, but I’ve had to swap out many GM light assemblies over the years and it’s usually just a couple hidden clips to pop the assembly out and slide in the new one. The entire assembly will plug into a single wire harness and be good to go (just pop in some bulbs).

edit* typically the only tool you would needis a flathead screwdriver to assist in getting the clips to release on the assembly you are replacing (once you release the clips it will slide out).
