So it seems Buick Encore gx have real discounts in the hood this fall.

And trailblazer is too new to get that wonderful consumer benefit yet.

knowing what you know about your trailblazer— would you still chose it or go with a similar priced, because of advertised discounts, Buick Encore gX?

I would still choose the Trailblazer over the Encore GX because it looks better IMO.

They're fundamentally the same vehicle, so the "knowing what we know" would be more applicable if it were comparison between the encoregx/trailblazer vs jeep renegade/mazda cx30/subaru crosstrek/etc.

Between the two, if fancier interior furnishings are important to you, then you should check out what buick has in the encore gx. If you prefer more standard-grade furnishings, or more likely the price point, then the trailblazer may be more appropriate.

The Trailblazers are still very new, so what we know is actually relatively little. I've been disappointed by several aspects of the rollout, dealership product knowledge, and official accessories, but have been largely impressed by the basics of the vehicle itself. I love the spacious interior, and the headroom with the moonroof. I like the styling of the Activ trim, and I like that it has a semi-functional skid plate under the engine bay. The turbo engine with AWD offer reasonable performance, every bit equivalent to what I experience from my 1.6T Ford Escape.

If I were purchasing again, I would take another test drive in the jeep renegade and try harder to get someone from toyota to call back about the rav4. Might still end up with a Trailblazer, but those two vehicles seem to have a lot going for them.

I have been very impressed with the vehicle so far. I was concerned about the 3 banger having the power, but the Trailblazer is just peppy with the 1.3 and CVT. If I was in the mountains instead of Florida, it might be more of a concern. My only compromise was going with white over the red I wanted. The dealer made me offer to buy the white (he didn't have red) that gave me a lot of greenback reasons to like white. The electronics in the car are very nice, although the USB stick issues I have had with the size of the stick are frustrating.

I am also frustrated with some of the delayed accessories, such as the roof rails (why do you put the rack on the car without rails in the first place). I know Covid has been the reason for a lot of the issues, but I still think things could have been managed better.

All in all, I am a happy camper. Chevrolet and GM have treated me well over the years. I drove the wheels off my 1.4T Sonic Hatchback for 8 years and had zero problems with the car, which was what I needed at the time. The Trailblazer fits the bill now and I am hoping for more of the same.

Thanks all for the responses it helps and for overlooking my typos.

it will be a hard choice because the trailblazer has better exterior look in my opinion. But the encore GX is avg about $6K off retail and likely half a year or more till trailblazers get there— if ever. Hopefully for Chevy they don’t have to get that level of discount to move like encores do.

I will see over next few months how inventories look and maybe get lucky with the Chevy options
