Does anyone have issues closing the hood? Mine only closes properly if I hold it like 10 inches high and let it go. If I hold lower than that it does not latch securely.

I have to let mine drop as well. The hood is small and light so I don't see anything wrong with it. You could adjust the bumpers to let it close easier, but that might also make the hood move around a little.

One thing I noticed about the hood is how thin the sheet metal is. I went through a touchless car wash and when I was going through the dryer section at the end the hood started flexing and caving in a little. Me and my wife were in shock watching this. Luckily there was no damage and it popped back up after we passed the dryer, but it showed how thin that sheet metal is and the need to be careful with washing, drying and waxing it.

Well that stinks I was hoping to run it through a touchless wash this winter. These new Mikes Car Washes popping up around my area, the dryers blow harder than a cat 1 hurricane.

Yeah, some of the touchless washes are nice especially if you're in a hurry. After my experience I started wondering if there was a way to add some bracing to the underside to prevent flexing. Like I said we were shocked/horrified when the hood caved in. 😲

I know on my 01 Silverado when the blowers hit the top, it makes a awful noise flopping up and down I assume.

Mine does it in the roof the one time I went through one. I was a little surprised at that. My Equinox did this also. Hated it every time it happened. It would be nice if there was structural bracing that mfg would take into consideration to eliminate these issues.

I had the same experience. I saw the hood start to flex and quickly drove out of the blower area. 😅 Not a good feeling.
