I'm looking at an AWD RS model, arriving soon at my local dealership. MSRP is $35,683 (canadian dollars). This includes the convenience and sun/liftgate package. I'm wondering how much to offer the dealer? I've never bought a new car before and wondering if anyone knows how much they actually pay for the car? Any tips? Thanks!

The downside of a new platform vehicle is that they are not in such a hurry to offer discounts. They’re new to the market. Many dealers have not even seen one yet. That being said, I was in the $550 cash back program and the dealer also discounted $750 USD. So, you could start at $2,000 off MSRP and let the negotiations begin.
