The hands free feature on my RS has stopped working. I haven’t changed any settings, double checked that the open & close setting is turned on in the “Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience” section on the infotainment center. It was working last week but I’ve noticed in the last 3-4 days it doesn’t work anymore. It opens and closes with the buttons on the door and with the key fob. I can see the Chevy symbol light up when I get near the vehicle but nothing happens when I kick under the rear bumper. Has anybody else experienced this issue?

If you have already tried cleaning the sensor and that didn't work then you might need a new one, definitely covered under warranty. It's also possible the connector for the sensor is loose or has a flaw, or the sensor moved, not lined up anymore.

Hey, just checking in to see if there was a resolve for this issue. My RS lift gate stopped working a week after I got it in August and I just saw this thread. Took it in to the dealership to fix it awhile ago, they said they did, but of course they didn’t.

Hi, yes, another person posted a fix for this problem. I can’t find the post but he recommended to disconnect the battery for 60 seconds and then reconnect it. This essentially forces the cars computer to do a reboot. Like shutting down a PC and then turning it on again. I tried it and my lift gate is working fine now.

Thank you for the reply, appreciate it! I’m going to give that a try today. Fingers crossed!

Just saw this message, sorry for the delay.

My car went back to the dealership for this same issue last week. The power tailgate still didn't work after their second attempt at fixing it. I also started to get the "Service Power Steering" warning mid-drive a couple of weeks ago. After diagnosing the Trailblazer they determined that the battery doesn't have enough voltage to operate these functions. That's what they told me anyway. They ordered a new battery and are installing it tomorrow. Maybe this issue will become a recall?
