It is an impressive engine technologically speaking and seems like a fitting capstone on what will probably be one of the last internal combustion engines that GM produces for a consumer vehicle. It may not be the most powerful, but it punches way above its weight class in terms of how small it is and how little volume it actually has to work with to move a car that honestly isn’t all that light. All of that while being relatively fuel efficient without adding on the costs and complexities of a hybrid system (which more and more are becoming financially unviable as the cost of full EVs comes closer and closer to falling into the “commodity” price range).
