The vehicle instruction manual states that it is recommended to use 0W20 viscosity standard oil.
Does the use of 5W30 viscosity oil put strain on the engine?

I took a look at the GM fuel system treatment plus product.
Is this product the same as a Chevron Techron product?

I wouldn't use 5W30, the recommended 0W20 is best for the engines tight clearances. Using a thicker oil could cause issues with the bearings and variable pressure oil pump not to mention reduced gas mileage. Why don't you want to use 0W20? I have Royal Purple 0W20 in my Trailblazer and don't have any problems.

Chevron Techron is a good fuel additive, easily as good as the GM cleaner. Royal Purple and Lucas Oil also make good fuel system cleaners. I use the Lucas cleaner every other tank and Royal Purple at every oil change.

I had fun exploring different fuel additive products
When i search Google for "GM fuel system treatment plus", ACDelco products appear.
Is ACDelco 88865595 officially certified by GM?
I think I saw that the ACDelco company belonged to GM.
