Thanks for sharing! Crutchfield has always been a great resource for car audio. I lost track how many times I've used them for car and home audio plus they have great customer service and tech support.

Let us know how the installation goes, good or bad as it really helps other owners.

Typically I've ordered replacement speakers off Amazon, but their prices were the same as Amazon and they included the wiring harnesses, something to mount the speaker, and the instructions.

Yeah I didn't use them for my Spark, because back in 2013 it was pretty straight forward install since nothing was in the door. However I'm impressed with their level of detail. Looks like the Bose amp access instructions should also work for the non-Bose amp too, which will be good to tap into the audio signal for the sub I'm looking at. JBL Bass Hub Pro for the spare tire.

Wow! Looks like great instructions. Almost good enough that I could do it.:D
the tweeter instructions were solid as they could be. Had to splice the wires and used some thick double side tape and a mount from the JBL club tweeters to have go in the existing hole.

How do you think the sound changed?
It’s louder than it was before and a little more crisp audio wise. Bass hits a little more too. I'm rounding out the system with the JBL BassHub Pro spare tire subwoofer. Now I know Im not gonna win any bass contests with that, but I get 200 watts of bass without giving up cargo space.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

I wanted a subwoofer but I didn’t want to give up cargo space. So I got a JBL BassHub Pro for $460 US which is probably $700 Canadian.

First thing the spare tire rod isnt long enough. So I went to Fastenal and got a 3 foot long M10 rod for $5. Had to borrow a grinder from a buddy to cut a 12 inch piece off. Installed the new rod and then cut it down to what was actually needed.

So when I called the guy doing the install he said I needed to get an LC2i Pro so I picked up that for $130. The install itself of the sub and lc2i pro was $150.

If they wire one of these in your car tell them not to use the “sub” wiring that is shown on the diagram (non bose) . You will not get audio instead they spliced off the rear speaker input of the amp.

Far as the bass goes it’s supposedly 200 watts. I have it set for maybe 3-4 and its plenty of bass and really fills the car well.

I wouldn't mind upgrading too, but I'll probably wait until the warranty expires to avoid any problems.

In time will you replace the head unit? I am sure the sound is completely different. I wish I was brave enough to do this kind of stuff. I would end up errantly cutting the wrong wires and stuff would never work.
if I do anything else it will be bypassing the factory amp entirely. Too many things are tied to factory head units
