Cougar Motor LED recall

For those of you who got the cougar motor leds. They want to recall the led lights and replace them with Halogen. Screw that. If you are inside your return window on Amazon I’d return them.

Thanks for the info, I just bought a set from Amazon a couple of days ago and hadn’t gotten around to putting them in. I just initiated the return for them.

Why? All that recall is saying is that they are very bright LEDs. Whether or not they blind anyone has to do with the specific housing they are used in. I'd just adjust them properly and then stand far back and see if you have glare. If there is no light spill, then you're all good and have very bright LEDs.

The way I read it is the LEDs exceed U. S. NHSTA Lux standards. That makes them illegal to use in the U. S. and they’ve been pulled from the Amazon site. If you live in Canada by all means use them. There’s no reason why you need to care about U. S. regulations. Anybody who has them go ahead use them if you want. I was just posting personal preference.

As it turns out, on further thought, even without the recall I would have returned my LEDs irregardless. I bought a set that contained both high and low beams. I only need the high beams so the low beam LEDs were of no use to me.
