According to GM Authority, Chevrolet has confirmed that the Trailblazer RS will be sold in China along with the United States. It will become the first Chevy SUV that's available with the RS package in both countries. They also mention that the Trailblazer RS could be the start of more RS Chevys being available worldwide.

When the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer made its debut at 2019 Auto Shanghai, the new Chevy crossover was only shown in the Redline finish that’s highly popular in China. A few months later, General Motors announced the Trailblazer for the American market, thereby debuting the Trailblazer RS. And now, the Bow Tie brand has just revealed that the Trailblazer RS will also reach the Chinese market.

In this fashion, the new Chevrolet Trailblazer crossover will become the Bow Tie brand’s first utility vehicle available in the RS trim level in both the United States and in China – its two primary markets. Though Chevrolet offers the Blazer RS, the Traverse RS and the Equinox RS, neither one is sold simultaneously in both China and the United States.

To that end, the lack of unified global availability of Chevrolet RS models could become a thing of the past. From the introduction of the new Chevrolet Blazer, we can note that Chevrolet is focusing more on RS models so as to make the vehicles more attractive. That direction is even more applicable to the all-new Trailblazer, whose RS version introduces an even higher level of differentiation and a two-color design, the latter being unprecedented for the brand.

As a member of GM’s next-generation global vehicles, the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer uses the brand’s new utility design language introduced by the 2019 Blazer. According to the company, the new styling for Chevrolet utilities is inspired by both the Camaro and the Corvette – the American high-performance car line.

Like the Blazer, the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer also has an aggressive front fascia inspired by the Camaro. It small new crossover, which is based on the new GM VSS-F platform, also features a two-tier headlight treatment.

Even more importantly, the front end of the Trailblazer RS model features notable design differences compared to the regular model. Among them is a larger, more aggressive front grille, a new surround housing for the headlights, as well as a totally redesigned lower bumper.

It should be noted that the Trailblazer RS is also the first Chevrolet model to use a contrasting two-color design for the body and the roof, with the latter finished in black. By doing so, the RS variant accentuates the “floating roof” design theme, which starts with the blacked-out A-pillar and follows through to the D-pillar.

At the rear, the Chevrolet Trailblazer incorporates a shoulder design that was “inspired by the Corvette,” according to Chevrolet material. The tail lights feature dual Y-shaped elements similar to those of the new 2020 Corvette.

As the latest model in Chevrolet’s ever-growing crossover family, the new Trailblazer leads trends with more differentiation between trim levels than ever before, thereby delivering a higher level of customization to the target customer.

The all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer will go on sale in late 2019 China. It will launch in the United States in early 2020. GM has not yet revealed the official technical details for the crossover, which will slot between the subcompact Trax (North America) / Tracker (China and Latin America) and the compact Equinox.
