2021 Chevy Trailblazer. RPM’s randomly shot up to 6 while cruising around 20mph, foot not even on the gas. Later tried putting the car in reverse and it wouldn’t move. Check Engine light on. any ideas or people having this issue?

That's a warranty issue for sure. I would take it in immediately.

Without knowing what code/s are present it's hard to say what's causing the problem. It could be as simple as reprogramming a trans control module or needing a software update, but it could be something more serious like a broken component or faulty sensor. I haven't heard of the issue your experiencing, but with such a new vehicle we're all still learning about potential problems. Please let us know what the dealership finds.

Yea keep us updated so for those that may run into this down the line will have an idea of where to turn. And don't get discouraged with the TB. It is a fun vehicle that is a brand new model so sadly some will run into things that others won't.

I'm still finding the communication gremlins in mine I've run a few diagnostics while driving and I think it's actually a RAM issue for a little 1.3T vehicle it has more shit going on then my old 2.0T Camaro and the parameters for tripping a light are really thin. Can't unlock it to see nor would I until my warranty is up but looking at Data Logs while I drive on my laptop I'm seeing things have intermittent blips that make no sense unless something is taking to long to register/handshake between modules. It's mostly a voltage issue I'm seeing not an operational.

Just out of curiosity, what trim level TB do you have? Do you know if you have the CVT or 9 speed transmission?

Thank you for the update. There have a been a few reported transmission failures due to improperly installed parts, so hopefully you'll never have a problem like this again. We have an AWD RS with the 9spd and it's been flawless since we bought it last May.

My 2021 is doing the same thing. Taking it in soon. It scared us driving on highway. Had to pull over and shut it down.
