Just in case this helps anyone else…
I just got my trailblazer back from the dealership. Check engine light came on. I was pissed, only 3,000 miles on it. Took it in, they cleared the code told me to put top tier gas in it. 🙄 Week later check engine back on. Took it back in. Turned out fuel injector misfired. They replaced all fuel injectors under warranty.

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing the problem found on your Trailblazer. This isn't the first injector replacement I've heard of, so it does appear there are some with problems. Ive used 91 octane top tier gas since day one and haven't had any problems.

Theres119,
Welcome. Good to hear they got it resolved. I do believe bad gas can cause problems. I don’t believe the dealers assessment of needing top tier. If that were the case then why doesn’t the manufacture require it? Gas stations that keep up their business will generally have better quality fuel. I have never purchased higher grade fuel in my TB and have had zero problems. Fuel has to meet a minimum government standard. I do look for stations that look well kept. I hope you get to enjoy it for a long time. Please post pics, would love to see your new ride.

well then. That is top tier? Mid or high grade gas?
Top tier isn't a reference to the octane rating, it's just a rating the manufacturers have achieved by proving their gas is clean and the additives in the gas actually work to clean the fuel system.

I'll have to look more into this. I have 24k miles and no issues and dont use High octane....but try to use the same gas station regularly and when I travel out of area I wont stop at funky stations that probably dont follow regulations. Thanks for the post and keep sharing your TB Journey.

Edit*I use TopTier*

Check engine light came on in mine yesterday am and the dealer can't get me in until the middle of next week. 4,800 miles on her. A little disappointed that I couldn't get more than three months of use before she had an issue, I always use kwikfil gas and I will start going to Sunoco or Mobil now that I heard about the toptiergas.

Did you make sure the gas cap has been put on with a couple clicks. Sometimes people miss that and it can kick a check light. Prob not the issue but can be a easy one to make sure you are putting the cap on tight after a fill up.

It was the gas cap.. I traded in a Murano that had chronic gas cap/ check engine light issues. I should have checked it - I had went to a full service station . Phew! Thank goodness

I purchased my 2023 Trailblazer RS a few months ago. Engine light came on around 2500 miles. They cleared the code. Light came back on but went off. It still comes on and off intermittently. I took it back the other day. Problems Injector 3. Parts ordered. Patiently waiting.
