Do you have sport mode? The steering is much tighter in sport mode instead of being over boosted which makes the steering feel loose.

Yes it has sport mode... thought all that did was change the shift points on the tranny.
Yes, higher shift points and reduced steering assist. Without sport mode on the steering feels over boosted or too much assist which makes the steering wander a little and feel floaty on the freeway.

I know I took my TB through the Mountains (NC) and on those curvy ass roads thought the front dove into corners if I was not going slow. At the time did not have it in sport mode though.

Ok thanks I'll give sport mode a try. The bump steer isn't unbearable I just found it strange that a new car would have it.
Not sure if this is your first GM product, but their non sport oriented models have had very light steering touch for a couple product generations now. Some people like it, others not so much. I generally enjoy it when I’m just going around town but the second I get on a highway/interstate, sport mode goes on because it is entirely too loose at high speed.
