On the rear of the new Trailblazer there are lights on the tailgate as well as the fenders. Are the lights on the tailgate for taillights only? Brake/turn lights do not light up the tailgate, only the fenders?

Would someone take a look (or a photo) at the brake lights and tell me (show me) which lights are lit up on your Trailblazer?

There are 2 questions that I have:
1. The brake light only lights up the upper left light section on the fender and the taillight portion on the fender?
2. The upper section on the liftgate does nothing?

I took this awhile ago. Here is mine with brakes on. This was pre license plates. I had already removed the dealer advertising sticker and reversed the dealer advertising plate. I am not getting paid by them, so why advertise

Thank you @Trail Blazed. There must be a difference in the RS vs LT. I know the RS is said to have LED and the LT has halogen (I think). They might also have changed the strategy since the layout is quite different. Thank you for responding.
I’m going to a stealership soon to check out an RS when they get one.
I too remove the stealership advertising stickers and license frames. First thing when I get home. Pet peeve.

From this video, I turn on all the functions of the taillights. In order of sequence:
1. Car off all lights off
2. Taillights on
3. Taillights off
4. Brake on
5. Car starts
6. Reverse lights and brake lights on
7. Reverse lights off, brake lights on
8. Brake lights on, taillights on
9. Brake lights off, tailiights on
10. Taillights on, turn signals on
11. Brake lights on, taillights on
12. Taillights on
13. all lights off

There are no RS's to be found at local dealers for comparison.

I'm also investigating the flicker of the taillights only on the outside housing. It might be complicated due to the diodes added for dinghy towing wiring harness install.

Yea that flicker would not fly with me. Would Have to be fixed if that were my car.

@brownactive Thank you for that confirmation, but does your Activ with the same LED light up the upper portion of the lift gate housings?
