I just purchased a 2023 Trailblazer Activ AWD and want to flat tow it.
It seems that the Blue Ox 1744 base plate should fit but their instructions are centered around the RS. Does this base plate fit? Any pictures after installation? How significant is the front bumper cover trimming?
Same questions regarding the Roadmaster 523206-5 base plate. Roadmaster instructions specifically show the Active trim level & where the bumper cover needs trimming. However, do the Blue Ox twist lock arms fit this baseplate?
Any recommendations? I plan on installing myself. I have previously installed the baseplate & tow system on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler.

After talking with Blue Ox & Roadmaster, I decided to purchase the Roadmaster base plate. Roadmaster had specific information & pictures for the Activ model. Blue Ox did not have any specific experience with Activ models. I will update after I install the base plate in a few weeks.

After a few days shipping delays due to weather, finally received the base plate. Installed yesterday, total time was around 6 hours (including lunch & breaks) for me & my wife. The Roadmaster installation instructions were quite good & the unit fit as advertised. The part number was 523206-5. Since I have a Blue Ox towbar, I also purchased Roadmaster #039-2 BO/Demco adapter arms.
Before, during & after pictures below.

Successfully flat towed the Trailblazer for the first time. No problems with the base plate or hook ups.
FWIW, I did install the Roadmaster Remote Battery Disconnect (part #766) solenoid unit - works great & is so quick & easy to disconnect/reconnect the battery. Additiionally, I ran wiring to a separate 12V socket to power my brake unit. And finally, after previous experience with wiring the tail lights in other vehicles & that when I have my bikes on the back carrier, it blocks the tailights, I am using the Custer products Lite It magnetic lights - it's so easy, the wireless signal unit plugs into the 7pin round socket on the RV & the lights sit on top of the rear roof. Lights can easily be seen even with the bikes on the Trailblazer.
Thanks to other forum members for correcting the owner's manual flat tow steps.
The whole time to prep/disconnect the Trailblazer is faster than my old Jeep Wrangler set up!
