I'm looking to add a aftermarket amp and subwoofer to my trailblazer. I need to access the rear speaker wires for my high level input converter and I'm wondering where would be the easiest access? I looked at taking out the factory head unit and it looks like a lot of steps just to find the rear speaker wires. I was thinking of maybe tapping into the wires right where they pass through to the door but wanted to see if anyone else has found an easier way first? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I recommend this thread Dash/Stereo Removal, Bose Amp, Speaker Install instructions . You dont need to take out the factory head unit if you have a TrailBlazer with a factory amp. Are you using a LC2i as well?

I dont have a Bose system either, but there is a factory amp for the "six" speaker system.
Sorry I didn't read far enough down the thread, I just looked at the PDF the first time. Thank you, this is very helpful. I have the 6 speaker system as well and will take a look at the factory amp. This looks to be much easier.

Just bought this hideaway model kicker 11HS8 looking to install under the driver seat. I checked out that pdf and it’s good to tel me how to take old stuff/replace existing but didn’t really find it helpful for adding new. Where do I tap into power and get the sub added to the correct lines? I read somewhere it is all under the cup holders. Any guides/pictures someone can point me to? To kicker is amp/sub all in one. Wasn’t looking to rock the house but with the lacking bass in this car wanted a little something more.

Great choice with the Kicker Hideaway, I had that in my Spark.

Power you will want to run straight to the battery.

You probably want to buy a line output converter so you can splice off the factory amp and have it convert to RCA. If you plan on running an amp later you may want to look at an LC2i that has two sets of RCA outs.

Depending on your trim is where your amp is located if you have one.

Thanks! I actually did buy the kicker Kisl 2-channel k-series speaker cable to rca adapter to go with it. I just wasn’t sure where to tap that into. That and trying to find the best way to get from where to tap that in as well as where to go from under the seat to the front to get to the battery. I find it isn’t super hard to replace radio/speakers but adding in “new” they don’t have as much material on. Basically looking for a guide to get my power to under the hood to hook up to the battery as suggested and another one on how do I tap this into the factory radio so it pulls properly.
