So I have a weird glitch that started recently.
i like to turn the AC on and off at times but have the fan still go ( auto stop start happends every time (( I’m fine with it)) and we’ll I will be at a light , and the car randomly starts back up and starts the compressor. Mind you the light that says” AC “ is not on . It would start to get cold andI have to shut the whole ac down and turn it back on.
Point is , AC ( compressor) comes on automatically, and seems like an issue and affects auto start . Comes on when I don’t want it too and I get cold . But I like the fan on.
no I don’t have it on auto either.
Anyone had this happen? It started after a check engine light came on recently and got fixed.

I also like to turn the AC off and just run the fan. I have never noticed the compressor turn on by itself, so I think it isn't a feature. Have you tried bringing it to the dealer yet?

Our RS did this for a couple weeks then stopped after a software update.

It started after a check engine light came on, when I took it to the dealership they said it was due for an update, and now it’s starting to get very annoying, it’s happening a lot more frequent . Can’t even have the fan on without the compressor starting anymore.

I have the same problem, It was not always that way but it started to do the same thing.

Do you have an RS? I never noticed my usb ports glowing before. I have a LT

Just FYI if you have your TB defrost on then the compressor will turn on even if the button shows off. It’s been wired that way for many years in most makes.

I understand that but it’s not on.
