The temperature just dropped really low this morning on the way to work,I remote started the engine for about 10 minutes, and started driving to work,I heard this growling noise under the hood,I first thought maybe somebody was trying to steal the cat and didn't cut all the way through, but I think when it's very cold out,This 1.3 likes to growl,it even did it on the way home from work today it sounds like a puma,it still runs strong 800 on the clock

The engine in my RS sounded like that a few times when it was cold, kind of a "grumbly" sound which I've heard a few Trailblazer reviews mention as well. When I switched from 87 to 91 gas the engine ran noticeably smoother and that sound mostly went away except when under a hard load while accelerating. The little 3cyl definitely likes higher octane even though it doesn't gain much in mileage.

First tank when new I'm pretty sure the dealer filled with Wawa regular, the second tank I purchased super premium and didn't notice any difference,on the third tank now I used 91,I think the really cold weather is making the engine a little raspy, but I was used to a 2.5 engine in my Colorado I traded for the TB,if the mileage calculator in the dash isn't a lier it says 31.7

31.7 sounds about right. I averaged 33 mpg over 11k miles, almost all of it with 91 octane.

That's pretty good mpg, the Colorado was about 24mpg at best
Ha ha, my 18 ZR2 only gets 17mpg average with the V6 while my 23 Stingray gets 25mpg average with a V8. The Trailblazer is doing good at 30+ mpg and despite having a little 3cyl it never really felt slow except for freeway on ramps.

I almost ordered a ZR2 Colorado I really like that truck, but I needed a vehicle asap my oil pump lost it's life in the Colorado at 64k still had the original brakes, dealership still offered 19 for trade but the TB was there on the lot, and I did pay 2 grand over sticker of 29
