Hey everyone,
New to the forum here, purchased a 2025 Chevy Trailbazer RS on November 29th after having an accident and having a total loss of my 2022 Equinox RS. Well the problems have started already with this SUV and wondering if others have or are experiencing these issues;

1- not always but has done this at least 5 times, brake pedal is hard and seems to be seized or locked on at least 5 occurrences while trying to start the car. Have to use extreme force to move pedal in order to push to start vehicle.
2- vehicle shudders and vibrations felt when driving up hills at various speeds
3- battery is discharging (unknown as to why; discovered by service department while trying to solve braking issues.
4- back up camera is non functional- was intermittent at times as of February 8th it no longer works at all!
Had the suv into the dealership for an entire day last Friday and they can’t find the issues, the suv is storing codes but they didn’t provide the codes to me and no dash lights are illuminating. Call and informed them of the backup camera yesterday and they ordered a new camera and cable; 2-3 week wait. I’m already done with this suv at this point - has 4000kms on it as of today. Makes me worry and wonder if this is the start of a nightmare for the next 4 years. Any one experience these issues or have any advice. Only advice dealership gave me was to try pushing the push to start prior to pressing the brake pedal to start the car. Definitely not a solution or fix.

I am almost certain that ALL of these issues are a result of software problems because the car was put on the lot and sold without the dealer confirming the latest software updates are in place. Dealership is throwing parts at it that more than likely are not the problem. Take the vehicle to another dealership that has technicians who are familiar with and know how to confirm and load the current software updates. Part of the Pre Delivery Inspection by the dealer is to confirm the latest software. You paid for PDI and the dealer didn't do it. Get the vehicle to a different dealership. The transmission clearly isn't programmed correctly.

Thank you for your reply, apparently they have checked the software and it’s all up to date. I’ll have to look into bringing it somewhere else for another opinion, unfortunately they are the only dealer in my area, closest one is 2 hours away but definitely got to figure it out, my equinox never caused any issues and was an amazing suv; one of the reasons I went back with Chevy.

I spent some time after my post thinking about your issue and feel like all the issues are related and originate from one discrepancy. It is interesting that the battery is discharging, and I am thinking that periods of low battery voltage is what is causing issues with the other systems you mentioned. I am sorry you are having these problems with a new vehicle. Nothing worse than problems with a new car. My Trailblazer has been a great vehicle and I hope that you will get this issue resolved soon. Good luck to you.

I have a 2024 Trailblazer RS with around 12,000 mi. I have experienced this problem and reported it to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong. Not surprising since it's very intermittent and has occurred four times in the past 8 months I have owned it. I found that simply tapping the brake lightly a couple of times will free it.

Hi. I have a 12 day old 25 LT AWD 9 speed, yes I bought it 12 days ago. already at the dealer for screens,radio car play not working now rear collision doesn't work they ordered new radio it will take 3-6 months to get. stop start does opposite of what its set to, transmission is idling jumpy at lights, I demanded dealer take it back at day 8 and they refused.. also seatbelt receiver is at a weird angle digging into peoples hips of all sizes poor design. I am sooo done with this already and haven't made a payment. going back to dealer for appt Monday this makes visit 2 in less than 2 weeks not looking forward to car payment for a faulty car :( keep me posted.

sorry you are already having issues as well, I also tried to make gm take it back but unfortunately they won’t. They had my trailblazer for a full week and apparently the issues didn’t happen for them - so now they are claiming they have helped as much as they could and have gone above and beyond! So frustrating to have a new car with so many issues, my brakes along with all the other issues are still there along with a fault in the paint that I found so now a brand new car needs $1500.00 worth of body work and paint. I surely do regret buying a Trailbazer and told them point blank I won’t be back for any other vehicle in the future. I have an appointment again on Thursday to see what excuse they come up with this time as everytime it’s something to cover up a crappy vehicle. Keep me updated on how things go with yours as well - I’ve attached pics of the bottom of my door so people are aware to look for the defects in paint - I wouldn’t of noticed it only for the seals around the doors are so crappy I was trying to clean the dirt and salt from winter driving out of the trim.
