We had an issue with our Trailblazer this past Sunday. While driving to the store it locked up all of a sudden nearly sending us thru the windshield. Was able to drive it into a parking lot and it was bucking and the cel came on. It wouldn’t go into reverse and noticed that the R was blinking. Had it towed to the dealership and on Tuesday afternoon the service department told me that the transmission needed to be replaced. The trailblazer only has 17,800 miles on it. Long story short, we had enough and traded it on a new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD and took our new Equinox home the same night.

A Google search on 2024 Trailblazer 9-speed transmission issues came up with this interesting synopsis "Some 2024 Chevy Trailblazers with the 9-speed transmission are affected by a service update due to a potential issue with internal transmission components. Specifically, the clutch backing plate and/or piston retaining rings may not be within specification. This issue, identified in Service Update N242446290, requires a replacement of the clutch piston housing. Affected vehicles, marked as "Open" in the GM system, must be held at the dealership until the repair is completed. This is not a recall, but affected vehicles must be held at the dealer until the fix is completed, according to GM Authority."

So far my 2024 TB RS AWD has not shown any transmission issues whatsoever. The only time I was almost sent through the windshield was the ACC going wonky due to losing connections to the camera and suddenly slamming on the brakes. I just rolled over 18,400 miles.
