I recently bought a brand new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT FWD 1.3L Turbo and I have had a couple issues like a lot of people in this forum! Right now my Trailblazer has 2620 miles on it. When I use my cruise control it works fine the first time but if I turn it off and then try to use again it won’t work!
My main issue I am having about my new vehicle is my dashboard has went completely out! What happened is my daughter spilled a water in the passenger side floorboard and we clean it up really quick and I used a wet dry vac to make sure all the water was gone. The next day I went to start my vehicle and it started fine but everything in my dashboard went out completely. What I mean by this is the following isn’t working in my dashboard anymore; speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, engine coolant temperature gauge, DIC, infotainment system screen is completely black (I think infotainment system works but don’t know since screen is out and completely black), onstar, Climate Control (completely out but fan is running when I start vehicle and can’t turn fan off since climate controls in my dash don’t work), and all dashboard lights are out! The buttons in the center console by the shifter seem to work. The headlights work and turn signal work outside the vehicle but not in the dashboard. I have check all the fuses and non are blown. Called the dealership and they scheduled a appointment for me to bring in my vehicle to drop off at the service department and they said it could be anything but if for some reason the spilled water did something for my dashboard to go completely out I will have to pay to get it repaired since warranty won’t cover it! What I don’t get is it wasn’t a whole bottle of water maybe half and it was on the passenger floorboard and cleaned and soaked up water right away so if this caused the whole dashboard to go completely out then there is some other issue going on because a little water in the passenger floorboard shouldn’t takeout the whole dashboard. I am new to TrailblazerTalk.com and I really hope that someone here in the forum could help me out if this has happened to someone else that has a Trailblazer or has herd of this happening to another Trailblazer and knows how it was fixed would be able to help me out I would appreciate it so very much! I hope that someone who can help replies in time before I have to take to my appointment at the dealership service department because if this dealership service department is like their sells department they are going to say it’s my fault and not covered by warranty and I will have to pay out of pocket! So I hope you guys can help me out! Thank you!

Have you tried looking under the carpet where the water spilled? I have a hard time believing the water could do that unless there was a wiring harness running under that area. I would also leave a fan on that area to help dry out any moisture.

Thank you! Already did this and it still did nothing to get dashboard to work. It is $165 for the diagnostic and they said if they see it is my fault and the warranty won’t cover the cost then I have to pay out of pocket!

Bumper Bumper, they should deal with this. That little amout of water is not the issue. Hell how many folks forget to close a window and rain gets in.

This does not sound like water on the floor should affect that. Contact Chevy directly, and/or have you dealership contact Chevy service support. First of all, I am pretty sure that there are no harnesses under the floor. And floor should be sealed to not leak to the outside (or the outside would leak in even when driving in the rain). If the dealership is still telling you it's your fault, I'd see another dealership and see if that helps. I'm guessing the events are not related in the least.

I know this was a while back but for giggles I like to pull fuses and "see what happens".

At night the interior lights bother my eyes so I unplug the display fuse. The dash and radio both go black.

The fuse block is under your dash to the driver left. Take off to be black cover and read the diagram. It's fuse slot F09 DISPLAY. check to see if it's blown.

I'm sure you already fixed the problem but in case not....
