Just took delivery of a 22 RS 2 weeks ago. Love the car with exception ONE thing. When we hit highway speeds of 65+ we hear a whistling noise in the front of the car. At first I thought windshield. It’s more to the passenger side. Took it to the service department almost immediately. Dealership says they don’t know what it is and can’t figure it. Said it might be poor design of mirror placement. I don’t believe this but… If that’s the case I’m super upset.
Anyone else have this issue and have any suggestions?

Same experience with a 2021 Activ. It doesn't happen all the time, though, and I generally just cover the sound with the radio. I haven't been able to determine exactly where it is coming from. I would love to have the dealer fix it, but I've never been able to get dealers to find/fix noises with other vehicles in the past, so I haven't made an effort.

I haven't had any car wash leaks or anything, though.

Same here with my 2021 Active. Seems to come from the pass side dash/windshield, not sure. I have noted at times it goes away if the hvac system is running. Not sure what is going on but seems we all have the same issue. I think it it the hvac system personally. Air is coming it, when the system is manipulated the sound goes away.

There is a lot of plastic in the TB for sure. We have one right above drivers door like right next to my head. At times its there or not. Depends on the terrain, bumps. I just learned to deal with it aka turn the radio on.

Yes, it has something to do with the HVAC setting (recirculation mode). I suspect the internal door that regulates outside air is what's causing the whistling. Next time you hear that noise try pushing the recirculation button and see how it changes the noise.

Interesting! I’ll have to check that out.
Dealership said they’ve got a few new ones coming and in and are going to see if they all do it too and go from there. It’s rather disappointing.

Okay I think I have the same one. I have vent visors so I put in extra double sided tape because I thought it might be rattling on the parts of the visors that aren't taped normally, but it didn't solve the issue.

i started with the cheap overseas visors and the passenger side had a terrible creaking sound when the window was down. but i replaced with the ones from GM and that problem is gone.

WHISTLE IS DEFINITELY THE COMING FROM A/C RECIRCULATE MODE!!! i took to a different dealer and finally got someone to listen to my concerns and not dismiss me. i took 2 shop foremen on a test drive with me driving b/c at first they too said they couldn't recreate the sound. I thought maybe they weren't turning the recirculate on or off, or not getting to a high enough speed (this starts at ~70mph) - but just turns out their ears couldn't detect the high frequency i suppose. because i could clearly hear and tell them when it stopped and started again while pushing the on/off recirculate.

So... the shop manager does believe me and is opening a ticket with GM. it drives me bonkers. i cannot use recirculate at all b/c i can't stand the whistle.

side note: not sure how to address the chemical like smell that i feel is associated with this issue. they say they can't smell it but i can. i guess i have super sonic nose and ears :(
